PLOT
The Emperor has dispatched Genjou Sanzou, a Buddhist monk, on a quest to locate the priceless Buddhist writings. One day, Sanzou encounters an Earth Deity who informs him that the evil Monkey Deity Son Goku, who was imprisoned in a mountain for 500 years after wreaking havoc in Heaven, has been brought to him by Buddha as a disciple. There are many adventures to be had with the booze-loving playboy Cho Hakkai, the leader of the heavenly army General Sagojyou, and their mount, the Dragon Crown Prince Ryuuba, from fending off monsters to competing in bishounen.
